Can you believe it - I even have seamless granite countertops.

I have a place for everything in this kitchen. Even the trash is hidden in the island. Now if I can just find the cook.

Landon's Room

Never dreamed Landon would have so much talent and fun picking out stuff for his room.

He has a great view and a built in for his desk, tv, video, music, etc. stuff.

He has a double vanity and his own shower.

He did a great job on picking out his tile and finishes. The pictures really don't do the colors justice.

The Den - 11/2/08

This is the den area. TV cabinet in the corner, soon to be fireplace (pellet stove cost prehibited) and to the right of the fireplace is the pantry for the kitchen.

In this view the den ceiling has been tongue and groved and they are starting the beam accent work. The accents were added and then the fan.

The fireplace was being built this weekend. Thanks to everyone that helped lift the rock mantle into place. Jose will be finishing the trim pieces and the hearth this week.

My apologies for not posting new pictures! What is a blog if you don't keep it current.

Let me start with the exterior. The first coat of paint is on and they are painting the second this week. We are still on target for a Thanksgiving completion (if not sooner).

We have already spent many hours on this deck enjoying the scenery.

The "deck" is on and the yard has been terraced, hydro-seeded and strawed.

The porch and patios have been poured and the post are in place.

Ceiling fans and light fixtures are in place.

The gutters are in also. (In case we ever get rain.)

The brush pile burned for days.

The house is coming along. We are still on target
to be in by Thanksgiving. If nothing else, the drought
has helped us stay on schedule.

The trim is being added. Here is a picture of how

our windows will be trimmed.

This is one of the doors that will be installed.

I'm having the trey ceiling trimmed in as well.

Life has been a little crazy at the Eurek's. Renya is on assignment in Charlotte, she is also in the T2 Tennis Playoffs with Molly, trying to sell their current residence, finish building a house, we are getting over some sort of cold and looking for a day of rest soon.

Landon will participate and march in the Suwanee Day parade this coming Saturday with his JROTC (Air Force) group. (I'll post pictures next week.) Landon's enjoys his ROTC program and his will be reaching out to you all for support soon for the projects his school performs.

Now, onto the latest with the house.

We have started painting the exterior and finishing up with the sheetrock this week. They are taping the seams, wall mudding, and sanding this week. Keith and his team are beginning to trim the inside. The den ceiling will be done with tongue & grove and the kitchen will have some fancy ceiling work done as well.

We are at the fun part where we get to decide the interior stuff (here is where I truly wish I had an open checkbook. Champagne taste on a beer budget).

The knee wall has been completed. The exterior painting
has been started another coat is still to be done.

The deck that will hold many future memories is starting
to really shape up. A set of stairs and railing will be added
soon as well.

If all goes well, Keith states that we can move the first

Can you believe this...
Our builder (Keith McCaleb) and his team have really done a fabulous job. As a project manager in a former life, I am constantly amazed at how this house is coming together and ahead of schedule as well as pretty darn close to budget.

The siding is on and we are ready to paint the house. We plan to paint the house with Sherwin Williams paint (siding - Sand Lion and the trim is called Foothills). Stayed tuned maybe next week we'll have the exterior painted if the weather permits.

Jose our brick mason has finished up for now with the
knee wall. Later when the front porch is poured, Jose
will come back and finish the columns and surround
on the porch.

I can't believe how fast this is coming together.
God is good and we are truly blessed. Thank you
for the prayers, we are getting traffic on our Allison
house but not a buyer yet. Please keep us on your
prayer list, we need a buyer for the Allison Drive
house.

This is the view you will see when you pull up into the driveway. The red truck is in front of the lower garage.

The guys are busy installing the windows for the view of the mountains and pasture. Tom Lewis and his crew have been working in some incredible temperatures and really do fantastic work.

This is what I call our back porch since the front porch will capture the views that we love so much, the upper garage is to the left. The roof is finished and the knee wall has begun.

Hey, Uncle Bob & Aunt Carolyn - This is where the pellet stove insert will go. After much discussion and lots of debate, we are going to bite the bullet and put in a Quadra-fire Mt. Vernon insert stove. Thank you for your advise on this and many other areas of the house.

Here is Landon's door that he picked for the door that goes out to the back porch and upper garage. The door looks really much better in person and has two matching side lights.

There are so many selections that have been made and so many more to go. Keith the builder runs a tight ship and is right on schedule.

The house is starting to look like a house. The character of the exterior is slowing starting to reflect the zillion of pictures we have provided the builder (Keith). With a clean canvas, Keith and his team have started to put the dream together for us. Seen here, we are in the stages of the final framing and this week they will be roofing, bricking in the (2’) knee wall that will surround the house. A few changes to the floor plan have been made and now we have 2 master suites on the main floor. (Yes, Landon does not know how good he has it.)

It is really hot here for those who are not local. Keith got in his truck this afternoon (8/5/08) and he said that the temperature at the site was reading 100+ degrees. God bless those who work outside for a living, I’d never make it.

I’ve included a few pictures of our scenic view, the critters, and a few shots of us. We get some beautiful sun rises and sets.

It looks like Garner has another yield of hay.

The girls (Harley & Rosie) just love it up there. The hawk can't wait for Rosie to move up there. Mr. Hawk likes to soar high above and we can watch him from our den window. It is so cool.

Yes, Landon is excited about his new "Man-Garage" for all his toys. He loves to tinker and take things apart and put them back together like someone else I knew.

Downstairs we will have a bedroom, bathroom, theatre room, garage for the toys, mechanical room and another family room.

I hope you all are having a great summer and staying cool. We are still on target for a Thanksgiving finish, hopefully we can stay on budget and schedule. Keep the prayers going for us to sell our current residence so we can make the move and celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday in our new home.

Keith and crew have been "slinging wood" as they say in these parts. Bruce and I took the afternoon off and picked up Landon for a quick peek.

Builder, Keith McCaleb is now wondering what he got himself into.

It really is happening (this feels so surreal to me). The house is starting to grow.

We had a lot of rain last week while Builder Keith was on vacation. A bunch of rock was put down to control the water run off along the driveway (also known as "the black diamond trail"). Thank you Jim for coming up with such a clever name.

Now, since my last posting the "crew" have been really busy. Keith and his team started back on July 22nd and have not stopped.

Sorry for the delay in posting. Keith the builder is on vacation. We have had lots of rain too in the mountains.

Since my last post, 4815 Allison Drive, Sugar Hill is on the market. For those interested, the FMLS # is 3744854.

This week the backfilled the dirt to the foundation and supposeably poured the slabs for the basement and the garage (That is if they didn't receive too much rain).

We are hoping the framing will begin the week of July 21st.

Got Concrete?
We have walls! The walls are still a little green but drying out quickly in this heat. Next the slabs will be poured and then framing mid July. Today, Keith (builder) walked us through the lay-out and we talked about location for windows and doors.

This week – Roofing decisions. Who ever dreamed that selecting and coordinating tin and shingles could be so fun? Builder Keith will meet Renya and Landon this week at the Supply Company to makes some decisions.

We are also in the stages of getting temporary power to the site. Thanks Mary for your help. Tom was out on Friday – Habersham EMC rocks.

Thank goodness for Keith and lots of finesse, we are on to the next stage. The county and the EPD decided last week that we needed to perform soil and eroison surveys.

We are moving forward with the building of our new home. With many bumps in the road and a steep driveway, the foundation should be poured this week.

We are now in compliance and back to building again. I never dreamed how many test, permits and surveys that are required. I know Keith will see us through them all. (Thanks Keith for everything!)

Keep up the prayers for us and this project. I'll post new updates next week.

Next Big Step...

Yesterday, we finalized and closed on the construction loan for the Dahlonega home. We now are moving forward to build the entire house with garage. Your prayers are needed for us to sell the house in Sugar Hill.

We are hoping to move at Thanksgiving, 2008 if the good Lord is willing.

Here are pictures captured for the appraisal of the property. The 1st picture is of the dug out basement. 2nd is the small pond and 3rd is of the view.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the Eurek Family Project page. This is our first time with doing something this technical but we are hoping to keep everyone in touch and up to speed on the project we are working on.

Our builder's name is Keith McCaleb who is out of Lumpkin County. We are excited and finally feel we are making some progress.
